Mutton Roghan Josh


  • 1 kg Mutton
  • 50 gm Ginger garlic paste
  • 300 gm Onion sliced
  • 250 gm Yogurt
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • ½ tsp Turmeric
  • 1-2 tsp Meat masala
  • 1 tsp Kitchen King
  • Whole garam masala

(Bay leaves, cardamom (both), mace, cinnamon, cloves)

  • ½ tsp Rattanjot (natural red food color)
  • 100 gm Ghee
  • ½ tsp Nutmeg
  • 1-2 tsp black pepper corns, crushed

1. Heat some ghee, add whole garam masala, food color and sauté

2. Add ginger garlic paste, sauté for 30 seconds and add sliced onions.

3. Put the mutton in when onions are golden brown, add some salt, paprika, turmeric and garam masala.

4. When mutton is about half cooked, add yogurt. Pour some water after some mins.

5. Add grated nutmegs and crushed pepper corns.

6. Add meat masala and some lemon juice
